For example, will you only create if it's part of a job or because someone asked you to? I don't think there has to be a reason. If you feel like creating something, then create. Create for yourself.
Whether it's writing a story, drawing, painting, cooking, building... whatever, if you feel like creating, making, building... then what's stopping you.
If you create because you want to create, then what does it matter if no one else but you likes what you create. Enjoy the creating process instead of worrying about the end result.
If you're creating because it's part of your job, then fine, it makes sense to take note of what others think... but if you're just creating for yourself, then as long as you're enjoying the creative process, then the end result is not that important.
Sure, if you want some feedback (constructive criticism) to improve, great but don't let others comments stop you from being creative. Try. Explore. Experiment (please, I'm talking about positive experimenting... no dodgy stuff).
Be as creative as you want to be
Creativity is subjective (you know that whole "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" line thrown around from time to time) so don't waste your time comparing yourself to others.

There's been loads of time when I have limited my own creativity either due to:
- worrying about what others have to say
- thinking that no one would like it
- comparing what I create to others (the "what I create is nowhere near as good as 'Insert name' a.k.a Mr Perfect so why should I bother" excuse)
- or whatever other reason...
But here's the thing, if you create simply because you feel like it, then none of the above reasons matter. So, create something. Create because you want to. Create because it's fun.
It really doesn't matter if what you create sucks right now. The more you work at it, the more you create, explore, practice... the better you'll get.
So go and create something for the fun of it. A poem, a picture, a doodle, a cartoon, a one page story, a scrambled egg with an additional mysterious ingredient... whatever, it doesn't matter, just go create something... because it's fun.
